Children of Diversity: At Eye Level
This interesting and colorful outdoor project called “Auf Augenhöhe” (= “At Eye Level” ) was carried out by pupils from the Nordhausen elementary school between 2018 and 2020 in cooperation with the Nordhausen kindergartens and with support from the Baden-Württemberg and Heidenhof Foundation. In a long-term creative discussion and expression the pupils had to deal with several questions. Questions which they are already dealing with every day, questions which are obvious to see and which are important to understand and to answer.
Natural and cultural diversity is threatened – how is this connected? Are men worth more than women? Are adults more important than children? Which religion is the “best”, which is more important? What rights do animals and plants have? Which species can we exterminate? What can we do to save and preserve them? What do we need to change? In 2019, this exhibition “At Eye Level” was created over many months with all the children from the Nordhausen primary school.
There are only four Gold Langurs left in the world.
