Urban Artist, Event Organizer & Scene Connector – OLLIO – Abstract Patterns in Mural Size
The great creative JONATHAN JOSEFSSON aka OLLIO is probably one of the most important artists and cultural connectors for the Gothenburg urban art scene in recent years or even decades. Not only as an abstract painter and sprayer he creates astonishing formations that can embellish a small canvas as well as a whole block of houses. He also masters letter writing and runs the great ABSTRACT GRAFFITI MAGAZINE, or AGM for short, but much more important is his constant and active organizing, networking and linking of artists, venues and ideas.

CODE26 – Abstract Patterns in Urban Space – JÖRG – Graffti Lettering – Independent Style

Discomformities with the rules, experiments with novelty and, above all, simply fuck about the name. “It’s about how good you paint and how often you paint that counts”. The creative artist CODE26 from Gothenburg started with graffiti art at the end of the 90s, but his artistic range has since developed extensively and he paints everything from letters and figures to abstract creations. And sometimes he also paints JÖRG. Or whatever occurs to him at the moment and whatever he feels like doing.

Graffiti Artist CABEL – GBG Graff Magazine – Underground Hall, Graffiti Jams & Creative Projects
The graffiti artist CABEL focuses on writing and letters, but he says that a good artist should be able to paint anything. Mostly it is his wildstyle name, but in addition to the great alphabetical formations, his art also includes a lot of times characters or a mixture of them in spacey atmospheres. In any case, it is always strongly colorful. He also runs the GBG GRAFF magazine and organizes fantastic urban art events. Check out the interview with CABEL!

Tattoo and Graffiti Artist TONY B – Unikum Studio – Characters, Anime and New School
The Swedish artist TONY B started with drawing on paper, followed by painting on human skin as a tattoo artist and finally also creating on walls as a graffiti sprayer. In Gothenburg he runs the magnificent tattoo studio UNIKUM with a team of six other great tattooers. His love is with the body decorations, but he kept on doing all of the other connected art genres too, so it is drawing, illustrations, tattoos and wall paintings. Awesome!

Urban Artist SCEB – Abstract Jungle Worlds in the City Landscape
The fantastic artist CAMILLA BOSTRÖM, better known as SCEB, has been decorating the walls in her city of Gothenburg and beyond for many years. Her works are abstract, colorful formations, often associated with plants or animals, and are created exclusively with spray cans. At least as far as the wall is concerned, because in addition to spraying, the creative artist is also active in other fields, she makes clothing or carpets, paintings on canvas and whatever else comes to mind. We visited SCEB in her studio in Gothenburg, a colorful place filled with interesting stuff.

Filip Rem – Multi Layer Painter & Applications – Gothenburg
The artist FILIP REM paints an abstract world that develops piece by piece during his painting process. The atmosphere has to be right and it is all about a certain expression. Sometimes he paints over a work numerous times in different ways, adds appliqués or even parts he found in an old paint can. In the end, it just has to fit, and if it does, that’s what his feeling tells him. We spoke with the interesting artist in an interview.

No Limit Borås – Fantastic Urban Art Festival since 2014
The NO LIMIT urban art festival is an awesome event that has brought countless great artists from Sweden and from all over the world to the city of Borås since it’s first edition in 2014. The event was initiated by the artist SHAI DAHAN together with the project HEY BORÅS and the city of Borås. The town with 114.000 inhabitants is filled with countless works of creativity in urban space, whether huge-scale murals, filigree works on street corners or sculptures and monuments. In 2020 they also collaborated with ARTSCAPE and organized an even bigger event. Check out the awesome artworks from the previous years!

Kulturkvarter Snösätra – Graffiti Wall Of Fame – [demolished]
The Kulturkvarter Snösätra with its Graffiti Wall of Fame was one of the greates open art galleries in Europe, unfortunately it has been torn down in September 2020, but here in our archive are a lot of photos of the great works on this former awesome colorful lost place. In 2014, a group was able to convince the landowners that certain walls can be painted. This started a transformation of this area into one of the largest graffiti exhibitions in Europe.

Streetart Södertälje – Hall of Fame at the harbour of Västergård
Södertälje is a Swedish city with approximately 70,000 inhabitants in the historic province of Södermanland southwest of Stockholm. A fantastic Hall of Fame is located at Södertälje Hamn in the harbour neighborhood of Västergård with countless great works of art. Especially impressive are the mystical murals of animals and apocalyptic scenarios by artist and tattooist TOMAS SUNDERSTRAND.

Trollhättan – 100th City Anniversary and Streetart Festival
Trollhättan is a town with 59.000 inhabitants and is located in the western Swedish province of Västra Götalands. Worth seeing are the neo-Gothic church, the historic canal or the stone box of Sjökullen. Sweden’s third largest gold treasure was found here during archaeological excavations, but the city’s real gems are on the house walls in the form of urban art. Several murals were created especially during the TROLLHÄTTAN STREETART FESTIVAL, which was held on the occasion of the city’s 100th anniversary in 2016.

Trollhättan – Sculptures, Statues and Monuments
The city of Trollhättan has a number of great murals and street art, but urban art also includes creative objects and sculptures, of which there are plenty of very interesting ones to see in the city. The first public artwork by AXEL EMIL EBBE was inaugurated on 23rd June 1936, many more should follow. Especially the installations from CARL-HARRY STÅLHANE became popular landmarks.

Kungälv – Urban Art in wooden Old Town and Artscape Visit
Kungälv is a small town in the province of Västra Götalands län and Bohuslän with around 22,000 inhabitants. In addition to the modern town center, there is a historic fortress with an idyllic old town of wooden buildings on Gamla Torget, the old market square. In 2019, the ARTSCAPE collective also came to the city and created great murals with various artists as part of the ARTSCAPE SAGA. There are also interesting statues, ancient monuments and modern installations in the area.

Vänersborg – Urban Art, Graffiti and Sculptures at the Vänern Lake
With around 23,000 inhabitants, Vänersborg is the capital of the Västra Götaland region and is located at the southern end of Lake Vänern, where the Göta älvs river flows towards the North Sea. The Skräckleparken along the lake is very cozy and idyllic and you can also find some works of art and installations around that area. There are also some mural paintings around town and even graffiti, but above all interesting sculptures made of metal or statues carved from stone by local artists.

Tumba is a bimunicipal locality in Stockholm County in the south east of the capital with around 37.000 inhabitants. The city is situated half-way between Stockholm and Södertälje and is considered a Stockholm suburb. Here you can find the collected artworks from Tumba.

Gothenburg Underground Hall of Fame – Masterpieces Museum below the surface
While many passers-by get on and off trains and buses above ground at the central station in Gothenburg, unbeknownst to them there is a veritable museum of fantastic urban art. Many meters below in a currently disused hall complex deep underground there hides a treasure paradies for graffiti lovers at the Secret Underground Hall of Fame! We were lucky to get a visiting tour to this obscure gem. Check out the huge archive with numerous fantastic masterpieces.
