UKRAINERUBAE – Train Writing, Urban Logo Art & Destructivism – One Hundred Wagons
The graffiti writer RUBAE of the LEGZ CREW from the Ukraine has been active with spray cans since 2002 and meanwhile specializes in trains, in particular the country’s typical green Kovalska class freight carriers. His book “One Hundred Wagons” was published in April 2023 in self-release with 132 writing works done between 2018 and 2022. We spoke to the versatile and train-loving artist in an interview about his beginnings in graffiti, the book, events, spray spaces in Kyiv and the graffiti scene in Ukraine. He also told us about the current difficult situation and how painting in urban spaces express itself during a war, whether it happens and how it is keep on going.

Sergiy Lysiuk aka ARM – Mural Artist and Modern Painter
The artists Sergiy Lysiuk aka ARM from Chernivtsi in the Ukraine started dreaming about doing portraits since he can remember. Back in school time inspired by the Hip Hop culture he just simply started spraying toilets but it soon became a deeply passion and developed in a highly talented skill which he is now doing professionally. On canvas he creates very detailed and elaborated motifs of people, this is more the modern art type for galleries and to hang inside a room. But his first excitement is about bigger pieces on the street and the mighty murals. Like he said: On the street it is like an open gallery and free to watch for anyone.
