The Vladislav Ribnikar School or OŠ Vladislav Ribnikar is a public primary school in the Krunski neighbourhood of the Vračar district. Its history dates back to the 19th century: as early as 1851, plans existed to establish a primary school in Vračar. The present-day school was created through the merger of the two schools “Aleksa Šantić” and “Slobodan Princip Seljo” and has borne the name Vladislav Ribnikar since 1st September 1975. The school is named after Vladislav S. Ribnikar, who lived from 1900 to 1955 and was a Serbian journalist and politician who served as director of the newspapers Politika and the news agency Tanjug. Today, the school has 53 classes, taught in two shifts. Unfortunately it became internationally known following the 3rd May 2023 shooting, in which ten people were killed. Family members and friends commemorate the victims every year on the anniversary. The more positive news are the many colorful and beautiful streetart and graffiti pieces, that can be found especially on the walls around the sports field.
