Rainbow Snake
The artwork Rainbow Snake by HUANG YONG PING consists of a 320 meter long snake skeleton whose curvy lines follow the entire Haga station and wind their way up through the soil layers. The skeleton’s vertebrae connect the underground rooms of the station with the ground level, where the snake’s head appears at the entrance to the bicycle garage. Parts of the gigantic body can be glimpsed from outside, while the largest part lies underground, with a large arch formation in the northern mezzanine and over one platform of the train station.
The Chinese concept and installation artist HUANG YONG PING was born on 18th February 1954 in Xiamen, China and died on 20th October 2019 in Paris, France.
