BigMaa. – Bernese Rap on Schwyzerdütsch

Half gangster, half jogging pants hero. Big Maa combines both and raps to musical blends of various electro and rap subgenres. “Big Maa” basically means “Big Man”, a mixture of English and the Swiss German word for man. The Lord is indeed great and he raps in Swiss German. Sometimes funny, sometimes provocative, sometimes silly and often critical. Over the last few years, the eloquent musician has published a number of works written in Bernese studios or during his many stays abroad. “De Boca A River” was recorded in Buenos Aires and brings Spanish influences into the beats, with “Nom de Dieu” is played with French phrases.

Lugano – Graffiti and Urban Art Collection

Lugano is a city in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland, on Lake Lugano. It has around 75.000 inhabitants and is the economic and cultural center of the region. Places of interest include the historic 9th-century Cathedral of San Lorenzo with its Renaissance façade, Parco Ciani on Lake Lugano, Monte Brè with its funicular railway and panoramic view of Lugano, and the Arte e Cultura (LAC) cultural center. The Lugano Estival Jazz festival also takes place here every year. Of course, the streets also have a lot to offer, and you can find great artwork on the walls and graffiti.

Chur – Urban Mural Collection – BANE, NEVERCREW & QUEEN KONG

During a trip to the city of Chur in Switzerland the streetart photographer ALEXEJ ROTH from Heilbronn collected photos of some fantastic murals which were made during the Street Art Festival Chur. This beautiful project and event was initiated by local artist FABIAN FLORIN aka BANE. The first mural in the collection called „Plessurefischer“ is from him. He paints sometimes alone, but mostly he is active together with his artist duo buddy PEST.
