CHILE: Streetart Angol – José Bunster 615

This extraordinary graffiti by an unknown author, accounts for a synchronism of imported mythologies mixed with the Mapuche world (see the stone sceptre or clava that it’s in the hand of the werewolf). On the other hand, the mythology of the werewolf is imported since there are no wolves in Chile.

The clava or stone scepter has ritual importance as a special sign of distinction carried by tribal chiefs, and at the same time, it is an object associated with masculine power, as shown by the figure of the werewolf. This graffiti stands out on the busy avenue where it is located, as there is no more graffiti in this area of Angol.
