CANADA: Streetart Montréal – UNDER PRESSURE – Graffiti Jam – Fantastic Urban Art since 1995

Today we show you awesome artworks from several editions of the fantastic event UNDER PRESSURE, which is the oldest street art festival in Montreal, perhaps in America, maybe in the entire world! It was founded by the two local street artists SEAZ and FLOW in 1995 and its primary mission is to encourage community involvement through urban culture, and thus contribute to the development and influence of urban arts at the local and international level. A real great happening!

CANADA: Streetart Montréal – Vieux-Rosemont – Canettes de Ruelle – Urban Art Festival – 7th Edition 2023

In 2023 the fantastic urban art festival CANETTES DE RUELLE took place for the 7th time in Montréal. On September 2nd, 3rd and 4th more than 50 artists created fabulous artworks around the Vieux-Rosemont district and beautified the neighborhood. The great artist AMIR SALAMAT paints fantastic worlds and complex abstract stories on small and large surfaces. But no matter how big or tiny the canvas, the wooden board or the wall is, it is always completely filled in a way that it awakens kind of new dimensions. The spice is in the detail. Exciting scenarios with a mix of historical characters from different cultures transport thoughts and feelings, often they are arguments about social issues and contain his dealings with them.

MEXICO: Spray Paint and Tattoo Ink – Murals, Canvas and Piel Ritual – Visual Artist POSK

The Mexican visual artist POSK creates fantastic creatures with a mix of mythology and abstract on canvas, on house walls in urban spaces or as a tattoo artist with his project PIEL RITUAL on human skin. The artworks inspire dreams of another world and are breathtaking and fascinating on both a large and small scale. We spoke with POSK in an interview about his great art and his interesting projects.

CANADA: Streetart Montréal – BREAKING WALLS 2023 – Graffiti Jam & Urban Art Festival

From 23rd till 25th June in 2023 the first  BREAKING WALLS jam took place in the streets of the Montréal district Hochelaga Maisonneuve. This non-profit urban arts and culture festival was organized by KOLORS, who are dedicated to empowering at-risk youth all over the globe through a variety of urban art therapy workshops and mural projects. The event also was supported by NBQ and STAY TRUE with equipment and paint. Here are the several artworks from the spray sessions, hopefully many more are going to come on following jam editions.

USA: Streetart Anchorage – Alaska – Urban Art and Graffiti Collection

Anchorage is a coast town located at the Cook Inlet bay and with around 290.000 inhabitants it is the largest city in in the US northernmost state Alaska. Recommended for visiting is the Alaska Native Heritage Center and the surrounding breathtaking nature. The city is the gateway to nearby wilderness areas and mountains such as the Chugach, Kenai and Talkeetna Mountains. Of course, there is also beautiful urban art here, especially the local artist ZIGGY has created countless large murals as well as smaller works of art across the city. These are often designed to match the locality or with images from historical events of the region.
